Welcome

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in learning more about our unique program.

The Brigham & Women's Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital Integrated Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology is an ACGME accredited postgraduate training program affiliated with Harvard Medical School. We are a large academic program with a complement of 44 residents. In addition to our two primary training sites Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), our residents rotate at Boston Children’s Hospital and other Massachusetts General Brigham (MGB) clinical sites throughout the Boston area.

Our primary hospitals serve the majority of patients from Boston and the surrounding towns, and our own clinical populations come from multiple cultures and economic conditions. We are the major referral center for Eastern Massachusetts and the surrounding New England area as well as a renowned referral site for other national and international patients

Our residents are exposed to the depth and breadth of clinical experiences second to none. Mass General Brigham has subspecialty fellowship training programs in all fellowships including: Complex Family Planning, Female Pelvic and Reconstructive Medicine, Global Health, Gynecologic Oncology, Maternal Fetal Medicine and Genetics, Minimally Invasive Gynecology, Pediatric Gynecology, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Additionally we are committed to providing care and training for full scope reproductive health care including abortion care to 26+ weeks.

In addition to clinical experiences, our program provides unparalleled research opportunities. Our residents are fortunate to have access to the facilities and faculty of the Harvard Medical School, School of Public Health, and other graduate programs within the Harvard University system. We have a structured research curriculum and mentorship.

We are committed to both diversity and inclusion. We strive to attract to our program trainees who are from diverse backgrounds, who will work together seamlessly with each other and with faculty to provide the best, most culturally sensitive care to the diverse patient populations we are privileged to serve in Boston. We are equally committed to creating an educational environment that is inclusive and supportive of everyone and celebrates the achievements of all.

Our program has a longstanding mission: to train leaders and innovators in the field of reproductive health. We are incredibly proud of our alumni who go on serve national society leaders developing clinical guidelines, conduct groundbreaking research, and lead inspiring advocacy and global health work. While our residents may go on to different paths, they all leave our residency with superior clinical skills in the full scope of obstetrics and gynecology.

The greatest strength of our program are the wonderful and talented residents themselves. Our residents are terrific individuals who, through the course of 4 years, become a cohesive team of best friends and ardent supporters of each other. They work incredibly hard, always with a smile. They enjoy each other’s company both in and outside of work. They are fun to work with, teach, and learn from. We think you will enjoy getting to know them.
